Haymarket.farm is operated by Haymarket Farm LLC.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We aim to keep this straightforward.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account or listing, we collect:
- Account information: email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider), display name
- Profile information: farm name, city, state (optional fields you choose to fill in)
- Listing information: hay type, pricing, quantity, location, quality data, photos, and descriptions you include in your listings
- Messages: content of messages you send or receive through the platform
- Payment information: when you purchase a listing boost or Season Pass, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with a transaction record and customer ID only.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the site, we collect:
- Analytics data: which pages you visit, how you found the site, and your general geographic location. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track you across websites. No personal data is collected by our analytics.
- Technical data: your browser type and device type, used solely for ensuring the site works correctly
We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate the platform — display your listings, deliver messages between buyers and sellers, process payments
- Send you transactional emails — account verification, password resets, message notifications, listing expiry alerts
- Enforce our terms — moderate content, prevent spam, investigate reported abuse
- Improve the platform — understand which features are used and how the site performs (using aggregated, non-personal analytics data only)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Haymarket.farm is operated in the United States and intended exclusively for users located in the United States. All data is stored and processed in the United States. We do not target or market our services to individuals in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction outside the United States. If you access this platform from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
What Other Users See
When you create a listing, the following information is publicly visible to anyone visiting the site:
- Your display name and farm name (if provided)
- Your city and state
- Your phone number, only if you choose to display it in your profile settings
- All listing details, photos, and descriptions you publish
Your email address is never displayed publicly. Buyers contact you through the platform's messaging system, and you receive notifications at your email address without it being exposed.
Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the platform:

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We select providers that align with responsible data handling practices.
Data Retention
- Account data: retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and personal data are removed within 30 days.
- Listings: active listings are publicly visible. Expired or deleted listings are removed from public view but may be retained in our database for up to 12 months for record-keeping and dispute resolution.
- Messages: retained for the life of your account. Deleted when you delete your account.
- Payment records: retained as required by applicable tax and financial record-keeping laws.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data — view your profile, listings, and messages through your dashboard at any time
- Update your data — edit your profile and listings through your dashboard
- Delete your account — contact us at hello@haymarket.farm and we will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days
- Export your data — contact us to request a copy of your personal data
While we do not target users outside the United States, if you are located in the European Economic Area and believe your personal data has been processed through this platform, you may contact us at hello@haymarket.farm.
Children
Haymarket.farm is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child, we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and database-level access controls (Row Level Security). However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify registered users by email. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
